Borrow a bike

Community e-bikes can be borrowed by local residents by booking below

We have four community e-bikes that can be borrowed by local residents for three days, a week or a month.

 

We charge a small fee for each to cover the cost of maintenance and consumables based on the mileage between services.

​

We have also set maximum mileage for each hire period and reserve the right to levy an excess mileage charge of 25p per mile if these are exceeded.

Ebike Loan Terms and Conditions

  1. Applicants must be over 18 years of age and resident or employed in the Parish of Killearn.  

  2. Loans will be for a period of weekend, weekly or monthly the appropriate fee for the hire period is shown on the pricing schedule.  

  3. Loan fees should be paid in advance directly into the KCFC bank account details of which areprovided when a provisional booking is made. 

  4. A cable lock will be provided as part of the loan. It is the borrower's responsibility to ensure the bike is secure at all times and stored in a locked, weatherproof building when at home.  

  5. A bag with spare tyre, tyre levers, a pump and high viz vest and battery charger is provided. 

  6. Bikes should be returned clean and with the battery charged.   

  7. The borrower is responsible for the safe return of all equipment and is liable for any loss or damage occurring during the loan period. Insurance cover for loss, damage and third party liability should be considered.  

  8. Cycling Killearn strongly recommend that the borrower wears a safety helmet at all times when cycling. A helmet can be provided and should any damaged occur during the hire period we ask this is reported on return for safety reasons. Helmets can be borrowed free of charge and should be booked through the booking app. 

  9. The bikes provided are for general touring and are suitable for use on gravel paths but not intended but very rocky paths or mountain biking. 

  10. Neither Cycling Killearn of KCFC can be held liable for any damage or injury suffered by the borrower or third parties arising from the use of the equipment howsoever caused. 

  11. Participants must comply with the highway code whilst using the bikes. 

  12. The loan of any and all equipment is at the discretion of Cycling Killearn and KCFC and both reserve the right to refuse loan to any person at any time. 

  13. Anonymous data on bike uptake & use will be reported to KCFC and used to inform ongoing development of the project.. Contact details will not be divulged to third parties.

Three days: up to 100 miles = £25

Week: up to 180 miles = £45

Month: up to 320 miles = £80
